Aalaya Dharisanam
Aalaya Dharisanam means seeing or visiting a temple to get a divine vision of God. In Tamil tradition, the phrase translates directly to “Temple Vision” or receiving a holy sighting of the deity inside a sanctum. The Ritual: It encompasses the entire spiritual process of visiting a temple—from crossing the Gopuram (gateway tower), walking around the Prakaram (outer courtyard), to observing the Archanai or Abhishekam (rituals).
The Significance: It is believed that observing a deity during Dharisanam brings peace, washes away negative karma, and aligns a devotee’s mind toward spiritual energy.
